Adar Gandelsman was an Israeli model. She was the first runner-up at Miss Israel 2017, receiving the title of Miss Universe Israel, and competed at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant. Adar was not a finalist in the Miss Universe 2017 pageant held in Las Vegas. Gandelsman, Miss Universe Iraq 2017 snapped a picture with Sarah Idan during the pageant. In December 2017, Idan and her family fled Iraq due to outrage from Iraqi citizens for her taking a picture for a picture with Miss Israel who had also served in the Israel Defense Forces at the time. Gandelsman is from Ashkelon, Israel, and is the daughter of Ashkenazi Jewish parents who immigrated to Israel from Brazil in 1992. [1][2] Adar, her first name, is a reference to a Hebrew month.
